Drives with high required torques and at the same time low output speeds can often be realized economically more favorable by a combination of hydraulic motor and one- to four-stage planetary gear. In addition, spring-applied multi-disc brakes, which are required when holding static loads, can be installed between the motor and the gear unit.
With our geared motors, continuous torques of approx. 0.3 to 540 kNm can be achieved as standard.
The power range extends from 0.3 to 160 kW. If required, higher torques and outputs can also be realized.
We distinguish between coaxial and angular gearmotors.
Angular geared motors have a short overall length and are often used as wheel drives.
Coaxial hydro gearmotors have a small overall diameter, but generally require more installation space in terms of length than angular gearmotors.
For safe holding of static loads, our hydraulic motors and motor-gearbox combinations can additionally be equipped with a spring-applied multi-disc brake. The brake opens when pressure is applied to the control line connection. The max. holding torque is achieved by spring force when the control line is depressurized. A distinction must be made between the LBD and FL brake types:
The brakes of type LBD form a unit with the motor. They are basically designed for the maximum possible motor torque. The connection dimensions of the brakes are identical to those of their associated motors, so that the brakes can be easily retrofitted if required. They include surface-treated internal parts and a special sealing system, which is why these brakes can also be operated with flame-retardant pressure fluids such as HFC.
Standardized mounting parts are used for mounting on a planetary gear unit. FL type brakes basically form a unit with the respective gear unit. The hydraulic motor is also mounted to the brake input using standard attachments. The selection of brakes depends on the gear unit size and the respective holding torque.
Description, notes, design
Our hydro motors can be combined with any of our one to four stage planetary gearboxes. In addition, spring-applied multi-disc brakes can be installed between the motor and the gearbox.

Assembly and Operating Instructions Series LBD
LBD brakes are designed as standstill brakes and are suitable for dry or wet running.
Our hydrobrake gearmotors are also used in mining, e.g. for drives on the slewing rings of bucket wheel excavators. The slewing rings are arranged between the chassis and the superstructure and enable the superstructure to be rotated relative to the chassis. Two hydrobrake gearmotors are often mounted on a spider for this purpose.
